Dr. Kellie Bedoni PT, DPT, MS, OCS
Orthopedic Specialist and Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Certified for the Female Athlete
I began my physical therapy career specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine after graduating from Northeastern University in 1998, earning my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Physical Therapy, and most recently my Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
Physical therapy is my passion; over my career I have helped numerous patients return to their active lifestyle including "weekend warriors", triathletes, MMA participants, junior hockey league players, high school and collegiate athletes, and those in the performance arts, such as Irish Step Dancing. Having played multiple sports in high school and college at a highly competitive level, I am well aware of the movement patterns and the latest evidenced based techniques to return you to you active participation in sports.
As an expert in human movement, biomechanics and post operative care, my treatments are individualized to your injury, taken from the latest research, and have improved results in quicker time frames. I continue to further my expertise by attending continuing education courses and hold Board Certification in Orthopedics, certifications in concussion based PT, vertigo, pregnancy/postpartum physical therapy, as well as experience in Dry Needling, instrument assisted soft tissue work (IASTM), and all forms of taping. I enjoy using a well rounded approach to PT and can utilize many different skills to optimize your treatment for enhanced performance.
While attaining my Doctoral degree, I began to have an interest in motor control in relation to prehab, rehab and orthopedics. My goal is to not only treat an injury, but to find issues before they happen. I like to recognize a problem or imbalance before it becomes a significant issue to keep you at optimal performance.
Recently, after working with higher level female athletes, I became a Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach for the female athlete to bridge the gap between pelvic health and return to exercise safely. My goal is to educate and empower women and help them succeed in pursuing an athletic lifestyle after baby. By providing a personalized evaluation and treatment program, I am able to help women achieve their goals in higher intensity exercise. I continue to educate myself in the area of Pregnancy and Postpartum physical therapy and pelvic health provide the best possible outcomes for women.
